The Hide & Changa Safari Camp refurbs & updates

The Hide Updates:

We have recently re-built and revamped our exclusive-use safari house, Tom’s Little Hide rooms 3 and 4, with the aim of refurbishing Tom’s 1 and 2 in the same style. Lighter, more spacious and contemporary, Tom’s offers a beautifully tranquil, private escape for families and groups of friends of up to 8 adults and 2 children (day beds) or 6 adults and 4 children.

The rest of The Hide is also receiving an upgrade – by the end of the year, each of our ten tents will be bigger (2m wider and 1m longer) and brighter with new, lighter canvas, double sliding doors, larger windows, refreshed bathrooms, double vanities, new luggage racks and wardrobe spaces. The extra space has made a huge difference to the guest experience, and since all tents have uninhibited views of the waterhole, guests are happy to spend siesta time here and on their verandas, enjoying the sights and sounds of nearby wildlife and birds.

The Private Hide has not escaped our attentions! The canvas has been replaced with cooling thatch, and guests now enjoy a more comfortable, cooler space with a wider deck and soft refurbs. The Private Hide is on the western-most side of camp and is a wonderful spot for sunsets and from which to watch elephants and buffalo coming in to drink at the waterhole in front of the camp.

Changa updates:

The single doors on each tent going out onto the decks have been replaced with double sliding teak/gauze doors, allowing guests to open up their whole room to wider views and improved ventilation. We’re also upgrading the pathways between tents with beautiful wooden decking, all done in-house, and in the main area. Even the elephants love the new pathways - Instagram link.

We are also happy to share that we have beautiful new reference maps for each camp layout, so useful!
