TATO donates 128m/- to Hanag tragedy victims

The Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO) has through its members, donated

$51,200 (Tsh 128,000,000) to help survivors of the mudslides tragedy at Katesh in Hanang District, Manyara region that claimed over 69 lives scores injured and others rendered homeless.

According to TATO they diverted funds mobilized from its members for a 40 years grand anniversary in order to help the victims.

“We’ve been touched by the plight of the mudslide victims and unanimously decided calling off the TATO’s 40 years grand anniversary that was scheduled on December 9, 2023 so that we can re-allocate the resources to support our dearest brothers and sisters in Katesh” said TATO Chairman, Mr Wilbard Chambulo as he handed over the relief to the Natural Resources and Tourism Minister, Angellah Kairuki.

The relief items made up of 37,800 liters of mineral water, 2000 liters of cooking Oil, 10 metric tons of wheat flour and 4,000 corrugated Iron sheets, all worth $51,200 (Tsh 128,000,000) in TATO’s efforts to offer a sigh of relief to the survivors.
