Tapestry Collection by Hilton to debut in Sub‑Saharan Africa

Hilton has announced the Sub‑Saharan Africa debut of its Tapestry Collection brand with agreements for three hotels – The Sterling Hotel in Sibaya, South Africa; Ava Hotel Nairobi in Lavington, Kenya; and Zaria Court Kigali in Rwanda, which will also mark Hilton’s first property in the country. The move supports Hilton’s Africa growth plan to nearly triple its presence to more than 160 trading hotels, building on 64 operating properties and a pipeline of 106 across the continent.

Zaria Court Kigali, developed by Masai Ujiri’s Zaria Group, is slated to open later this year with 80 rooms in a new sports‑ and entertainment‑led mixed‑use district near BK Arena and Amahoro Stadium. Ava Hotel Nairobi will offer 91 rooms and rooftop dining in one of the city’s most connected suburbs, while The Sterling Hotel in KwaZulu‑Natal is due in 2027 with 111 rooms close to King Shaka International Airport and Durban ICC. The Kenya and Rwanda hotels will be managed by Aleph Hospitality. Hilton positions the lifestyle brand to meet rising demand for authentic, design‑led stays that serve both leisure and business travel in key African hubs.
