TAASA Migration Camp Concludes Ndutu Season and Reopens in the Serengeti’s Western Corridor (Grumeti)
Grumeti, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania – 1 April 2026 — TAASA Luxury Lodges & Camps has announced the seasonal relocation of TAASA Migration Camp following the conclusion of its "green season" in Ndutu. The camp closed its southern operations on 31 March 2026 and is scheduled to reopen in the Grumeti region of the Central Serengeti from 1 May to 22 June 2026.
The move is strategically designed to track the Great Migration as the herds journey northwest toward the Grumeti River. Reopening near the Belo Belo plains, the camp is positioned just meters from the river, offering access to potential river crossings and high concentrations of wildlife in a region known for its predator-rich landscapes.
Operational & Location Details
- Dates: The camp will operate in the Western Corridor for a limited window from 1 May through 22 June 2026.
- Location: GPS coordinates 2°13'28.13"S 34°23'56.98"E / 36M 0655586, UTM 9753811
- Access: Approximately 30 km (18.6 miles) from Grumeti Airstrip via Tani Kumi Bridge; approximately 70 km (43.5 miles) from Seronera Airstrip.
Guest Experience and Amenities
The Grumeti season offers a quieter alternative to the busier northern migration hotspots. Guests can expect frequent sightings of lions, leopards, and hyenas alongside large grazing herds.
- Accommodations: The camp features 12 tented suites, including interconnecting options for families.
- Facilities: Amenities at the camp include a dining and bar tent, a lounge tent, and an outdoor fire pit. Each guest experience is further enhanced by personalized service from a dedicated safari host.
- Activities: Safari activities are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles. Signature experiences include bush dining, sundowners, starlit boma dining, and access to nearby hot air balloon safaris.
