TAAG Angola Airlines Launches Luanda – Abidjan Route from April 2026

TAAG Angola Airlines has opened ticket sales for a new route linking Luanda's Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) to Félix Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, with the first commercial flight scheduled for 6 April 2026. The service will operate three times weekly – on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays – using an Airbus A220-300 configured for 137 passengers, comprising 12 Business Class and 125 Economy Class seats. Outbound flights depart Luanda at 11:10, arriving in Abidjan at 14:05, with the return departing at 15:05 and arriving back in Luanda at 19:50 (local times).

The new route supports TAAG's broader African expansion strategy and positions Angola as a regional connectivity hub between southern and West Africa. Passengers travelling from Abidjan will benefit from onward connections via Luanda to Lisbon, Johannesburg and Cape Town, with potential future links to São Paulo under consideration. The launch was marked by an institutional ceremony in Luanda attended by Angolan government representatives, diplomatic officials, civil aviation stakeholders and TAAG board members, underscoring the strategic significance of the route for bilateral trade, mobility and cooperation between Angola and francophone West Africa.
