South Africa to host first Skift Megatrends in Africa
The Millat Group has secured South Africa as host of the first Skift Megatrends event on the continent, with the global launch of Skift’s Africa Megatrends 2026 set for sunrise on Table Mountain on 27 January 2026. Skift Megatrends – regarded as an annual compass for the travel sector – will outline forces shaping the year ahead, including shifting consumer behaviour, the next phase of AI adoption, destination strategy redesign and structural changes across hospitality and aviation.
Positioned to elevate Africa’s profile in global tourism, the event will bring together more than 100 senior leaders from travel, hospitality and technology to discuss implications for the region’s growth. Skift and Millat executives said the launch underscores Africa’s seat at the strategy table and will provide data to inform marketing, investment decisions and efforts to re‑engage long‑haul markets.
