Nominations open for South African Tourism board following court ruling
South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Patricia de Lille, has gazetted the process to nominate candidates to the South African Tourism board, following a decision by the Gauteng Division of the High Court of South Africa to strike from the urgent roll an application by the dissolved board seeking reinstatement. Nominations are now open and close on 5 December 2025 at 16:30.
According to the Minister, the process will include interviews and shortlisting, after which recommendations will be submitted to Cabinet for consideration. The move aims to restore stable governance at the tourism agency – a key step for industry confidence and continuity in destination marketing and sector programmes.
