More than 800 women are set to visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area on 7 March as part of an initiative marking International Women’s Day. Organised by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA), the visit aims to boost domestic tourism while raising awareness about conservation efforts. NCAA Senior Assistant Conservation Commissioner for Tourism and Marketing, Mariam Kobelo, highlighted that the initiative aligns with national efforts to encourage local tourism, particularly among women, and supports broader sustainability goals.

In addition to the visit, participants will take part in conservation activities, including road cleaning along key tourist routes. The initiative not only enhances environmental awareness but also underscores the role of women in responsible tourism and conservation. Supported by local businesses such as Tanzanite Cooperates, the programme provides an opportunity for women to engage with nature, network, and contribute to sustainable tourism practices in Tanzania.
