New boat for Loldia House

Introducing MV Furukombe - an eight-seater “Panga boat” purpose-built for Lake Naivasha adventures at Loldia House, in Kenya’s Great Rift Valley.

Named by the Loldia House team, Furukombe (the Swahili word for fish eagle) is a fitting tribute to one of Lake Naivasha’s most iconic residents. Powered by a 100HP four-stroke engine, she offers smoother cruising and the ability to travel further across the lake.

With MV Furukombe, guests can now reach Crescent Island and Kilimandege Sanctuary (home to the Kenya Bird of Prey Trust’s Naivasha Raptor Centre) in just 25-30 minutes, weather permitting. This makes for a perfect morning on the lake with an early boat ride, a walk amongst the wildlife, and a picnic on Crescent Island - Images. We highly recommend visiting the critically endangered raptors afterwards.

While our original boat remains ideal for gentle shoreline cruising closer to Loldia, MV Furukombe unlocks a whole new level of exploration on Lake Naivasha.

Our boat transfers are included in the accommodation rate, while entrance fees to Crescent Island and the Raptor Centre are payable on arrival.
