Miss Angola 2026 Puts Sustainable Domestic Tourism and Community Development Centre Stage
Wandeleia Rodrigues Bango, the newly crowned Miss Angola 2026, has thrown the spotlight on sustainable domestic tourism and environmental stewardship as the cornerstones of her year-long reign. Speaking after her election on November 30, Bango articulated a vision that intertwines tourism with social upliftment, aiming to transform local travel into a dynamic engine for economic and human development within Angola’s most vulnerable communities.
Bango’s primary social project is the creation of an intelligent domestic tourism system, set to debut in the province of Cuanza Norte, specifically in the commune of Canhoca—her birthplace. By selecting this rural area as the launchpad for her initiative, she hopes to channel attention and resources to regions that are rich in untapped beauty but often overlooked in national tourism strategies. “I grew up in a rural area and I know the potential that exists, as well as the difficulties communities face. I want people from all over the country to discover the same beauty that I saw, and for that to contribute to improving the lives of those populations,” Bango shared, underlining the authentic connection she brings to her advocacy.
