Meta Launches Digital Upskilling Programme for Sub-Saharan Tourism Sector

Meta has launched a new four-month Tourism Upskill Programme targeting tourism ministries, boards, and public institutions across Sub-Saharan Africa. Running from September to December 2025, the programme includes monthly two-hour virtual sessions focused on using Meta's platforms to enhance digital marketing, audience engagement, performance tracking, and campaign development within the tourism sector.

Each session will cover practical themes such as content strategy, brand advertising, and return-on-investment measurement, aiming to strengthen the digital capabilities of public tourism stakeholders. As destinations in the region face growing competition for digitally connected travellers, the initiative offers a timely opportunity to modernise tools, drive campaign effectiveness, and improve public-private collaboration to boost tourism outcomes.
