Intrepid Travel signs Safer Tourism Pledge to enhance traveller safety
Independent charity the Safer Tourism Foundation has announced that Intrepid Travel has joined its Safer Tourism Pledge, reinforcing the operator’s risk, health and safety commitments across its global operations. Intrepid runs more than 900 small‑group trips in over 120 countries and is B Corp certified; the pledge sets industry‑developed standards for safety systems, traveller information, responsiveness to concerns and data sharing.
As part of the programme, Intrepid will work with other signatories to identify emerging risks and share anonymised incident data, contributing to a dataset covering more than 10 million trips annually that the Foundation uses to analyse root causes and prevent harm. “Intrepid has long prioritised responsible travel, and safety is a major part of that commitment. We’re proud to sign up to the Safer Tourism Pledge, reinforcing our duty of care,” said Charlie Newman, Global Safety Manager at Intrepid Travel. The Foundation’s 2025 Travel Behaviour Risk Index notes that UK holidaymakers generally feel safe abroad, though optimism may be masking rising risks.
