Graskop Gorge Lift Co backs Kruger flood recovery with R100 000 donation
Graskop Gorge Lift Co has donated R100 000 (US$6,198) to the SANParks Honorary Rangers Flood Disaster Relief Fund to support urgent restoration in Kruger National Park after recent floods damaged roads, bridges and camps. The donation on 4 February 2026 comes as Kruger marks its 100th anniversary, with recovery costs estimated at more than R500 million (US$30.9 million) and pressure mounting on SANParks’ resources.
The Panorama Route attraction said prolonged access disruptions would affect local businesses and surrounding communities, calling on other tourism operators and corporates to contribute. SANParks Honorary Rangers described the contribution as a welcome boost to relief efforts, underscoring Kruger’s central role in South Africa’s tourism economy and biodiversity protection.
