El Karama Lodge: New Horseback Riding Adventure
El Karama Lodge: Adventures on Horseback from October 1 2021
El Karama Lodge, Laikipia’s leader in family travel and sustainable tourism, has a brand new adventure activity to share with our guests just in time for the Red List lifting.
An owner-operated lodge specialising in families and small groups and located in the heart of the stunning El Karama Conservancy, the Grant family have always had a connection with horses and riding. Sophie, Murray and the team at El Karama Lodge are delighted to announce that after much preparation and planning over 2020 and 2021, horse riding is now part of our adventure experience!
In partnership with our neighbours of 20 years, Saddlebag Adventures Limited, experienced riders can now explore this 14, 000 acres wildlife haven on horseback through the Lodge. With lovely, gentle bush savvy horses and charming equine guides who have grown up in this eco system and know the landscape intimately, our guests can explore El Karama on horseback from October 1st 2021 onwards.
From 3 hour Morning Rides to Half day and Full day rides arriving into the lodge’s overnight fly camp set up. Along with our walking and game drive experiences, riding is the most incredible way to experience the beauty of this landscape and all the abundance of wildlife we find here. With rolling hills full of indigenous trees, river systems and culminating in a beautiful waterfall to the North, riding like walking is the real thing!
