CityBlue Hotels Announces Two New Coastal Developments in Kenya
CityBlue Hotels, a member of The Diar Group, has announced two major mixed-use hospitality and residential developments on the Kenyan coast, both unveiled at the Future Hospitality Summit Africa in Nairobi. The first, Oceara Residences by CityBlue, is a beachfront project in Watamu developed in partnership with Sands of Darakasi Resort Ltd. Set on approximately six acres with over 130 metres of ocean frontage, the development will comprise more than 200 units - including studios and one- and two-bedroom apartments - alongside amenities such as a beach club, multiple pools, restaurants, a spa and fitness facilities. Completion is targeted for Q4 2029.
The second development, Diani Beach Residences by CityBlue, is a proposed collaboration between The Diar Group and Staroot Real Estate in Diani Beach. Spanning approximately five acres, the project will feature between 400 and 500 contemporary residential units, with amenities including pools, a spa, fitness centre, conference spaces, paddle courts and a signature restaurant concept. Both developments will operate under the Residences by CityBlue platform, aligning with international hospitality standards and regional distribution networks. CEO Jameel Verjee noted that Diani continues to emerge as one of East Africa's most attractive coastal destinations, with the projects designed to deliver long-term value for investors while enhancing the destination's global appeal.
