CIMGLOBAL appoints Sonto Ndlovu to lead Africa expansion
CIMGLOBAL has named Nomasonto “Sonto” Ndlovu as Regional Director as it establishes its first permanent presence in Africa, headquartered in Johannesburg. The move – announced on 16 January 2026 – targets the continent’s accelerating MICE market, valued at $17.9 billion in 2024 and projected to reach $65.6 billion by 2032, yet currently accounting for only 3% of global business tourism.
Ndlovu brings over two decades of senior experience across South African Tourism, KwaZulu‑Natal Tourism, Limpopo Tourism Agency and the private sector, including leading the repositioning of Meetings Africa. CIMGLOBAL plans to support African associations’ international growth, raise professional standards and capacity, attract global events to African destinations and develop sustainable, knowledge‑driven meeting platforms from its new Johannesburg hub.
