Botswana and Mozambique Sign MoU to Strengthen Tourism Ties

The Botswana Tourism Organisation (BTO) and Mozambique's national tourism development agency, ANDITUR, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to formalise cooperation across tourism marketing, investment and quality assurance. The agreement establishes a framework to increase tourism flows between the two countries, develop multi-destination experiences, and strengthen destination competitiveness through knowledge exchange.

Under the MoU, the two institutions will collaborate across a broad range of areas including destination marketing, tourism research and market intelligence, sustainable tourism, MICE, air connectivity, digital tourism and skills development. A Joint Technical Committee will be established to oversee implementation and develop a five-year action plan. A key focus will be the creation and promotion of combined Botswana – Mozambique itineraries that draw on complementary wildlife, beach, marine, cultural and adventure offerings, with private-sector operators, airlines and destination management companies encouraged to participate in developing joint products for international markets.
