Blaauwklippen Manor to reopen after heritage restoration

Newmark Hotels & Reserves will reopen the restored Blaauwklippen Manor in Stellenbosch on 1 February 2026, returning five‑star accommodation to one of South Africa’s oldest wine estates. Established in 1682, the property reintroduces 11 luxury units across the historic Manor House and Jonkershuis – eight en‑suite rooms and three spacious suites – following extensive works after the April 2024 fire.

Guided by heritage architects and specialist craftsmen, the project conserved original materials and balanced historical integrity with modern comfort. Interiors by designer Francois du Plessis set a refined, contemporary tone, with features including private terraces, gas fireplaces and a shared pool. The reopening strengthens premium capacity in the Cape Winelands and underscores the estate’s role in wine tourism and hospitality in the Western Cape.
