ATTA® at WTM Africa: A Celebration of Connections and Opportunity

What an unforgettable week in Cape Town! WTM Africa 2025 marked its largest edition in the event’s 11-year history – and ATTA® was proud to be at the heart of it all.
According to the stats, WTM Africa had a 27% increase in international buyers, with an impressive 82% attending the show for the very first time. Our exhibitors experienced the energy of a truly international show and were kept busy with an impressive schedule of appointments, testament to the growing appetite for African travel experiences across global markets.
Kicking off the event, Kgomotso Ramothea, joined a thought-provoking panel exploring the rise of niche tourism. You can read more about the discussion here and discover more insights in our latest whitepaper. Kgomotso also represented ATTA® at an exclusive travel leaders’ luncheon, highlighting future-facing collaborations within the industry.
Chris Mears welcomed guests to a truly memorable ATTA® networking event at the vibrant Hotel Sky. A heartfelt thank you to our partners, The Diamond Works and Ethiopian Airlines, for helping us bring the evening to life. Congratulations to Hester Kleynhans, who walked away with a stunning piece of tanzanite jewellery – a highlight of the night!
Across the three days we enjoyed meaningful conversations, reconnected with our valued media partners, and hosted an intimate dinner together with the iconic Cape Grace. We also released the results of our AI survey, entered into a partnership with the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA), and promoted our ATTA® for Action Awards to interested members.
WTM Africa reminded us once again of the strength and spirit of our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us – we look forward to building on this momentum together.
