AtholPlace in Johannesburg goes exclusive-use!
In 2014, Morukuru Family acquired AtholPlace Boutique Hotel in the upmarket suburb of Sandton in Johannesburg. The stylish boutique hotel was renovated and a new 4-bedroom villa was added, before re-opening in 2015 as AtholPlace Hotel & Villa. Over the years we welcomed many happy guests, including some Royals even.
As you probably know, Morukuru Family pioneered the fully serviced and fully inclusive exclusive-use safari house experience in Madikwe Game Reserve (since 2005) and later added Morukuru Ocean House in the De Hoop Nature Reserve as well. We are generally considered to be THE specialists for exclusive-use stays in South Africa.
As a result of the current situation, the demand for exclusive-use properties has increased substantially and we strongly believe that now is the right time to change the concept of AtholPlace Hotel & Villa to that of AtholPlace House & Villa, creating two separate exclusive-use houses in Johannesburg, which will continue to be proud members of Relais & Chateaux as well.
AtholPlace Restaurant will no longer be operational, instead guests will enjoy private meals, tailored to their preferences, at AtholPlace House or at AtholPlace Villa.
AtholPlace House (formerly the hotel) with 9 spacious and comfortable bedrooms is ideal for multi-generational families and corporate getaways up to 18 guests. Five bedrooms are located in the main house on the first floor and a further four bedrooms are situated in the separate building, with two bedrooms downstairs (interleading) and two bedrooms on the first floor (also interleading). AtholPlace House also offers a bar and lounge area, as well as outdoor and indoor dining spaces.
AtholPlace Villa will remain the 4-bedroom exclusive-use villa it has been for years now, accommodating up to 8 guests and offering it's own private garden and swimming pool, as well as indoor and outdoor dining spaces. Many of your clients have already had the pleasure of enjoying a stay at this luxurious 'home-away-from-home' in Johannesburg.
Both AtholPlace House and AtholPlace Villa will be offered on bed & breakfast basis, including return airport transfers and drinks too.
An optional 'Full Board' surcharge means that all meals and snacks can be included as well.
For those guests who are keen to explore Johannesburg, we also offer an 'All Inclusive' supplement that not just includes all meals and snacks, but also a half-day guided tour of Johannesburg, using our own in-house certified guide and our own 9-seater private minibus.
We are planning to re-open as AtholPlace House & Villa once domestic inter provincial travel in South Africa is allowed. From that moment on, AtholPlace House & Villa operates on exclusive-use basis only. From now on we can only accept new bookings for AtholPlace House & Villa on exclusive-use basis.
Weddings, events and conferences at AtholPlace House & Villa
AtholPlace House & Villa can now also be rented separately on exclusive-use basis for special events such as milestone celebrations, bridal- and baby-showers, product launches, photoshoots, small conferences, corporate getaways and intimate boutique-style weddings.
