Sumbandila is an educational non-profit. We operate predominantly in rural Limpopo, South Africa and we believe in the transformative power of education.
What we do
We select extraordinary children from backgrounds of extreme poverty and offer them a world-class education alongside a strong mentorship program. Our ultimate goal is to help build future leaders who will make significant contributions to their communities and country.
How we raise funds
We have 3 entities: Sumbandila Scholarship Trust is a registered South African NPO under license 080-267-NPO and relies entirely on sponsorships and donations. We have a United States-based non-profit called Sumbandila with 501(c)3 tax-exempt status and EIN 82-0977543 that directs funding to our program. We have another charitable trust in the UK & Europe called The UK Friends Of Sumbandila Scholarship Trust with Charity number: 1190936 that also directs funding to our program. We gratefully accept donations from across the globe.
