Rhino Art - Let Our Children's Voices Be Heard campaign aims to gather the largest number of children's 'Art Voices' in support of rhino conservation

World-wide rhinos are facing extinction as a result of the cruel and senseless slaughter for rhino horn

In an effort to save these animals for next generations to enjoy, Rhino Art aims to educate children around the world about the importance of protecting and nurturing these rhinos.

In Africa, they run education programs at schools, where each child is encouraged to create an art piece on the rhino theme, recording their message of rhino conservation.

Watamu Turtle Watch

Website http://localocean.co/watamu-turtle-watch/

In 1997 a group of Watamu residents decided to take action against increasing human-related threats on the marine environment. They were particularly concerned about nesting sea turtles who were unable to successfully lay their eggs due to beach developments and risk of poaching.

In 2002, recognising a wider need for community involvement in marine conservation, the name “Local Ocean” was adopted to encourage people to look after their local marine environment.

Today Local Ocean Conservation continues to conduct practical conservation efforts as well as encouraging the sustainable use of natural resources through community development, education and campaigning.
