Jabulani lodge to launch fully-equipped kosher kitchen in Big 5 game reserve
Following great demand for kosher cuisine from visiting safari guests, Jabulani lodge in the Kapama Private Game Reserve will be launching their own kosher kitchen, to better cater for Jewish diners.
HERD Trust was founded by Adine Roode, Jabulani lodge owner and MD, to assist with the care of the rescued Jabulani elephant herd and new orphans. The elephants are given a safe home in the reserve where Jabulani is based, in the Kapama Private Game Reserve in Hoedspruit.

Earlier this year, Jabulani shared news of the rescued female albino baby elephant that was brought into the care of HERD, South Africa’s first elephant orphanage built alongside the Jabulani stables. The little elephant had survived severe wounds from a snare and was found alone, abandoned by her herd.
Every elephant needs a herd. As a species, their strong family bonds and delicate social dynamics are integral to their wellbeing and survival. Because of this, orphaned elephant calves have a slim chance of survival in the wild.
