Sanbona Wildlife Reserve & Jock Safari Lodge
Sanbona is an authentic and contrasting natural space, it also serves as a major role player in the conservation realm- which is imparted and intricately woven into our guest experiences. It is a true example of a successful rewilding project on an epic scale within the Western Cape, underpinned by peer reviewed, research-based conservation practice. Today, this vast reserve’s top priority is to manage conservation sensitively while preserving the area’s ecological integrity, creating natural ecosystems. The reserve itself is a convenient 3-hour drive from Cape Town, along the world-famous Route 62. Three luxury lodges each offer a distinct style and appeal, while the seasonal Explorer Camp gives opportunity to explore the veld on foot.
Sanbona registered the reserve as a non-profit company earlier in 2021. This supports the CALEO Foundations goal of creating a sustainable eco-tourism safari model. I would love to direct you to our NPC website: Sanbona Nature and Wilderness Reserve It is filled with fantastic insight into some of the more ‘behind the scenes’ information that might not normally filter through.
