A safari is always amazing, but we’re about to offer Bushtops guests something unique, enhancing the experience even further.

As we try to balance sensible behaviour with the need for time away from home, we’re delighted to say that PCR Covid testing and certification are now available at all three of our camps (Mara Bushtops in Kenya, plus Serengeti Bushtops and Roving Bushtops in Tanzania).

This is an exceptional opportunity for anyone wanting to take advantage of Tanzania having reopened its borders and airports. With the annual migration passing through between July and October, the Northern Serengeti is likely to be virtually empty of visitors, letting family, friends or organisations view a cornucopia of wildlife in splendid isolation.

Ready to rove! The beauty of Roving Bushtops is our ability to move camp, to follow the herds. So on 5 January 2019 we will move (temporarily) to Kusini and the short grasses of the Southern Serengeti, to gain the best possible vantage point from which to watch the wildebeest birthing season.

One of the many advantages of being located in our own private conservancy is being able to run walking safaris directly from the camp. All you need is good walking shoes and a sense of adventure. A qualified, armed ranger, naturalist and Masai spotter lead the way (followed by a vehicle where accessible) bringing you to within a safe distance of a wide variety of game. En route they explain the tracks, markings, droppings and plant life which create the tableaux around you, with insights into how nature’s bounty provides food, medicine and resources for tribal life. You may never be closer to nature, at its most raw and unspoiled, than this.
