A private 4x4 for every Bushtops adventure

“It was twenty years ago today…” Those timeless Sergeant Pepper lyrics echo our own milestone. In 2006 we launched the first of our three camps, Mara Bushtops—an exhilarating and daunting venture that ultimately shaped an experience we remain thrilled by and immensely proud of.

From the outset, our goal was simple: to offer what others do, only better. We set out to create Wild Luxury—a seamless blend of unforgettable safari adventure and exceptional comfort, helping guests reconnect with what matters most. As we approached our 20th anniversary in 2026, we asked ourselves how best to celebrate the beginning of our third Bushtops decade.

The answer: give every guest group their own exclusive vehicle.

Although private vehicles have always been available, they will now be guaranteed for every non-solo booking—whether a couple, family, or group of friends. Each will enjoy full use of one of our outstanding open-sided 4x4 game drive vehicles, adding a new level of exclusivity to the Bushtops experience. This applies immediately to all new and existing 4x4 bookings. Guests who previously paid for private use will be refunded the premium. (Note: airstrip transfers may still be shared.)

To support this, we’re expanding our fleet and welcoming more expert drivers and spotters. From a team of 20 in 2006 to more than 250 across our three camps today, each Bushtops staff member is carefully selected, rigorously trained, and deeply valued—essential to upholding the Bushtops difference.
