Zimbabwe to host UN Tourism meetings in 2026

Zimbabwe is set to host several high‑level UN Tourism events in 2026, Information Minister Zhemu Soda has confirmed. The line‑up includes the 23rd Meeting of the UN Tourism Committee on Tourism and Sustainability, the second UN Tourism Regional Congress on Women Empowerment in Tourism in Africa, and a UN capacity‑building workshop.

The government says hosting these meetings is a milestone on the path to the UN Tourism International Year of Sustainable and Resilient Tourism in 2027 – positioning Zimbabwe more prominently in global tourism governance. Participation by international tourism leaders, policymakers and partners is expected to reinforce the country’s commitment to sustainable development and strengthen capacity across a sector anchored by attractions such as Victoria Falls and Great Zimbabwe.
