Zimbabwe Looks to Enhance and Develop Airport Infrastructure

Zimbabwe has renewed its partnership with China Jiangsu International to expand airport maintenance and aviation skills development, enhancing its capacity as a regional travel hub. This follows earlier collaborations that modernised Victoria Falls and Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airports, significantly increasing passenger capacity and positioning the country as a key entry point for Southern African safari tourism.
Victoria Falls International now accommodates 1.5 million passengers annually – a 240% increase – while Robert Gabriel Mugabe International has seen a 140% uplift, reaching a combined national capacity of 7.7 million. These upgrades support multi-destination itineraries and improved regional connectivity. With long-term sustainability in focus, the partnership includes technical training for Zimbabwean aviation professionals, supporting reliable operations and future infrastructure enhancements to meet rising tourism demand.
