Zimbabwe, Emirates discuss direct Dubai – Victoria Falls route
Zimbabwe has opened talks with Emirates on a potential direct Dubai – Victoria Falls service, following meetings on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates. President Emmerson Mnangagwa is attending the summit with a ministerial delegation, including Tourism Minister Barbara Rwodzi, who met Emirates’ leadership led by Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer Adnan Kazim.
Discussions centred on boosting air connectivity and positioning Victoria Falls International Airport as a KAZA regional hub, leveraging the KAZA UniVisa and the airport’s ability to handle wide‑body aircraft, including the Airbus A380. Rwodzi credited Emirates’ support with aiding Zimbabwe’s tourism recovery and visibility, noting the country’s recognition by Forbes in 2025 as the world’s number one must‑visit destination.
