Zambia to host 2026 AESATA Conference in Livingstone – minister urges industry backing

Zambia will host the 2026 Africa Eastern and Southern Africa Travel Agents (AESATA) Conference in Livingstone, with Tourism Minister Rodney Sikumba calling on stakeholders to give full support. He said the event is a chance to accelerate growth and strengthen MICE tourism, noting Zambia recorded 2.2 million international arrivals in 2024 and is targeting 3 million in 2025.

Scheduled for June 2026, the conference is expected to draw close to 200 delegates – including travel agents, airlines, tourism leaders and media – offering a platform to deepen business linkages and boost arrivals across all circuits. Travel Agents Association of Zambia chair Hamida Malik expressed confidence in the country’s readiness, saying the event will enhance global exposure and foster partnerships that drive sector growth.
