Zambia Reaffirms Commitment to Wildlife Protection Through “Worth More Alive” Campaign

Zambia’s Ministry of Tourism has reiterated its commitment to combating wildlife crime through the ongoing “Worth More Alive” campaign, launched in partnership with Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) and Wildlife Crime Prevention (WCP). During a stakeholder review meeting on 7 May at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA), officials from government, conservation groups, airlines, and media assessed the campaign’s progress since its launch in August 2022.
Efforts under the campaign include installing life-size sculptures of endangered species at KKIA, distributing multilingual awareness materials across four international airports, and establishing a wildlife crime hotline staffed by Department of National Parks and Wildlife officers. The initiative targets species such as elephants, pangolins, and rhinos, and focuses on integrating conservation messaging into travel infrastructure to promote awareness among travellers and support enforcement across Zambia’s transport hubs.
