Zambia Honours Travel Agents for Boosting Tourism Promotion

The Zambian Ministry of Tourism has hosted the 2025 Travel Agency Appreciation Awards, recognising the critical contribution of travel agents in positioning Zambia as a leading global destination. Held on 28 March at Lusaka’s Urban Hotel, the ceremony brought together key industry stakeholders, with government officials praising the efforts of travel professionals in promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage, wildlife experiences, and natural landscapes.
Permanent Secretary Evans Muhanga highlighted ongoing government efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure, air connectivity, and sustainable travel practices. He also acknowledged the support of South African Airways in strengthening regional travel links. Reaffirming the Ministry’s commitment to inclusive and responsible tourism growth, Mr. Muhanga said collaboration between government, airlines, and the private sector is crucial to driving Zambia’s tourism development and community upliftment.
