Wesgro, the official tourism, trade, and investment promotion agency for Cape Town and the Western Cape, has launched a series of digital "Playbooks" in celebration of Tourism Month. These Playbooks, available on the Wesgro website, are designed to enhance the marketing of Cape Town and the Western Cape as prime travel destinations. They feature itineraries, maps, videos, images, and blogs that can be freely used by tourism operators to promote the region’s attractions to both local and international audiences.

Developed to address challenges faced by the tourism sector post-pandemic, the Playbooks focus on key themes such as gastronomy, golf, halal tourism, and sustainability. These themes align with the Western Cape Government's Tourism Blueprint and aim to simplify destination marketing, particularly for newer operators.

Tourism plays a crucial role in the region’s economy, contributing 10% to the GDP. By providing these digital resources, Wesgro aims to strengthen the tourism sector and ensure Cape Town and the Western Cape remain competitive globally. Wesgro CEO Wrenelle Stander and Dr. Ivan Meyer, Western Cape Minister of Agriculture, Economic Development, and Tourism, emphasize the importance of digital tools in promoting the region’s unique offerings and driving sustainable growth.
