ValueJet Launches Twice-Weekly Lagos–Banjul Service to Boost West African Connectivity

Nigeria-based ValueJet is set to launch a new direct flight route between Lagos and Banjul, The Gambia, starting 15 May 2025. The service will operate twice weekly, with departures from Lagos on Thursdays and Sundays at 21:00, arriving in Banjul at 23:30. Return flights are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays at 00:30, landing back in Lagos at 05:00. Flights will operate from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The new route is expected to enhance regional travel and tourism links between Nigeria and The Gambia, opening opportunities for trade and leisure travel. ValueJet’s Managing Director, Capt. Omololu Majekodunmi, stated the initiative aligns with the airline’s broader West African expansion plans. With The Gambia’s appeal as a beach and cultural destination, the service offers potential for travel trade growth, particularly for agents developing regional packages.
