Update on the Ongoing Construction of new Rooms.

We are pleased to share an update on the ongoing development and expansion at The Makokola Retreat, situated on the beautiful southern shores of Lake Malawi.

Construction of our new accommodation wing is progressing, marking another important milestone in our continued investment in the resort and our commitment to enhancing the guest experience.

The development will introduce 19 additional accommodation units, comprising:

10 Beach Room Doubles

4 Beach Twin Rooms

4 Beach Villas

1 Sunrise Villa

Designed to complement the natural beauty and surroundings of Lake Malawi, the new accommodation will offer guests greater choice, additional comfort and an enhanced lakeside experience.

The project is expected to be completed by June 2027, representing an exciting new chapter for The Makokola Retreat and a further contribution to the growth of Malawi's luxury tourism offering.

We look forward to welcoming our travel trade partners and guests to experience these exciting new additions.
