UNWTO Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit: Empowering African Youth & Start-ups in the Tourism Industry

The 2024 Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit (AYTIS) is taking place from 28-31 May in Windhoek, Namibia. It aims to accelerate innovative linkages between travel startups and the industry. Organized with UNWTO, AfCFTA and the Namibia Tourism Board, among others, key events include an entrepreneurship masterclass and Intra-Africa Trading Day targeting youth, women, businesses, and entrepreneurs in tourism.
AYTIS aims to provide guidance on funding startups, connecting with investors, innovators, and youth-run firms making waves across the continent. The Masterclass features a Market Access Expo, one-on-one business exchange, and an Innovation Challenge Boot Camp.
Notable speakers include experts from business incubators, banks, and development agencies across Africa. Over 650 in-person delegates and 2,000 online participants from around the world are expected to attend.
The Namibian Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism will provide exhibition space allowing local tourism stakeholders to showcase and sell their products and services to Summit attendees. Delegates are encouraged to extend their stay to experience Namibia's iconic wildlife, landscapes, cuisine and nightlife.
