UN Tourism Launches Global Social Innovation Challenge to Drive Inclusive Tourism
UN Tourism, in partnership with the Sommet Education Foundation, has launched the Social Innovation Challenge to support startups and scaleups creating sustainable, inclusive solutions in tourism. The initiative calls for tech-enabled, community-focused projects in three categories: community-based tourism, inclusivity and accessibility, and green innovation. Applicants must present at least a minimum viable product (MVP), with the deadline for entries set for 30 November 2025.
Finalists will gain access to global investor networks and personalised mentoring, with up to six full scholarships to Les Roches Global Hospitality Education in Spain provided by Sommet Education Foundation. Strategic partners also include Plug and Play (technology), TORNUS Agency (branding and communications), and several top hospitality schools. The selected ventures will pitch their ideas at a UN Tourism Demo Day and receive exclusive resources to accelerate the development of their solutions, aligning with global efforts to build a more resilient, equitable tourism industry.
