Uganda Wildlife Half Marathon returns 1 March

Uganda Wildlife Authority will stage the 8th Uganda Wildlife Half Marathon on 1 March 2026 at Kitante Primary School, Kampala, under the theme Running to Educate Children of the Fallen Rangers. Proceeds support the Fallen Rangers Education Fund, which currently assists nearly 150 learners from primary through tertiary levels, highlighting tourism’s role in conservation and community welfare.

Participants can enter 21 km, 10 km and 5 km runs. Registration fees are UGX 30,000–50,000 for individuals; UGX 700,000 for primary schools and UGX 900,000 for secondary; and UGX 3 million–10 million for corporate sponsors. UWA’s Bashir Hangi said continued public backing is expected, with beneficiaries such as graduate‑to‑be Allan Kelechi underscoring the programme’s impact.
