Uganda Travel Advisory Update: Elections in January 2026
The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for Uganda ahead of the presidential and parliamentary elections on 15 January 2026. The guidance highlights the upcoming election period and advises travellers to avoid political gatherings and large crowds and to stay informed via official channels. While these elections may bring increased political activity and demonstrations in urban areas, tourism activities and visits to national parks remain operational, and there is currently no blanket travel bans or restrictions affecting key tourism circuits. Operators should continue to monitor local conditions and advise clients accordingly.
