Filmed over three years entirely within Mashatu, Land of Leopards follows a leopard mother and her two cubs as they navigate life in a changing and challenging wilderness. Directed by Julien Naar, with cinematography and field production by Wim and Mags Vorster of Wild Web Africa, the documentary captures intimate leopard behaviour and the realities of survival against the backdrop of Mashatu’s 42,000-hectare private wilderness in Botswana’s Northern Tuli region. Produced by ZED for France Télévisions, National Geographic and RTS, the film premiered in Africa at the Wildscreen Festival Botswana in 2025.

About Big Little Giants

The latest wildlife documentary filmed at Mashatu turns the lens towards the youngest members of the wilderness. At its heart is Pula, a young elephant calf embarking on his first great journey through the reserve. Along the way, viewers encounter other young animals — including jackal pups and cheetah cubs — as they learn to navigate danger, follow ancient pathways and find their place within the natural world. Filmed entirely at Mashatu by wildlife filmmakers Wim and Mags Vorster of Wild Web Africa, the documentary offers an intimate perspective on the resilience, instinct and family bonds that shape the earliest stages of life in the wild.
