Turkish Airlines Boosts South Africa Capacity with Six Additional Weekly Flights

Turkish Airlines is set to increase its South African operations from 14 to 20 weekly flights from late October 2026, adding three additional weekly services each to Johannesburg and Cape Town via Istanbul. Johannesburg frequencies will rise from seven to 10 weekly flights from 25 October 2026, with Cape Town following suit from 26 October 2026. The expanded schedule runs through to late March 2027, offering passengers greater flexibility and broader access to the airline's network of more than 350 destinations across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

The capacity boost is expected to support both business and leisure travel between Southern Africa and Türkiye, with connections through Istanbul Airport. Passengers on extended layovers may qualify for Turkish Airlines' Touristanbul and Stopover in Istanbul programmes, while Business Class travellers will have access to the carrier's Business Lounge at Istanbul Airport.
