Tourism Seychelles has concluded a strategic media briefing in Johannesburg, where Principal Secretary Sherin Francis outlined the destination’s vision for 2025. Held at Proud Mary Modern Eatery + Wine Bar in Rosebank, the event gathered key South African media representatives to discuss upcoming developments, including new luxury hotel projects, boutique properties, and the Seychelles Tourism Grading Programme. The session reinforced Seychelles' commitment to maintaining its standing as a leading holiday destination while broadening its tourism appeal.
Key highlights included plans for major sporting events such as the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, the Seychelles Sailing Challenge, and the Seychelles Nature Trail, positioning the islands as a centre for international sports tourism. The briefing also generated anticipation for the 40th Festival Kreol in October 2025, aiming to enhance visitor engagement with Seychellois culture. Francis emphasised that strengthening ties with the South African market remains a priority, as Seychelles continues to diversify its offerings and attract experience-driven travellers from the region.
