The Grand Hotel Djibloho, a key venue for the meeting between Equatorial Guinea and UNESCO

From March 17 to 22, 2025, the Grand Hotel Djibloho, located in the city of La Paz, became the center of international cooperation between Equatorial Guinea and UNESCO, hosting the important meeting for the development of the new strategic cooperation document for the period 2025-2029. The Grand Hotel Djibloho, known for its modern facilities and capacity to host major events, was the perfect venue for this high-level meeting, providing a productive environment for the discussions and agreements reached.
The meeting was chaired by Clemente Engonga Nguema Onguene, Minister of State for Education, Vocational Training, and Sports of Equatorial Guinea, who led discussions on the projects that will shape the future of cooperation between the two parties.
Hilaire Mbutu, Regional Coordinator for Education and Acting Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Central Africa, praised not only Equatorial Guinea's good governance but also the facilities at the Grand Hotel Djibloho, highlighting how its ambiance and excellent service contributed to the efficiency of the discussions. Mbutu also reaffirmed UNESCO's commitment to continue collaborating with Equatorial Guinea to strengthen the country's education and cultural sectors.
For his part, Minister Clemente Nguema Onguene expressed his satisfaction with UNESCO's continued interest in supporting the country's development. During the event, the Equatorial Guinean delegation presented several projects in which UNESCO will play a key role in their implementation and monitoring. The Grand Hotel Djibloho, which served not only as accommodation but also as the venue for the intense discussions and presentations, played a key role in ensuring that all involved parties could work in a comfortable and well-equipped space.
The meeting concluded on March 21 with the signing of key agreements and a mutual commitment to advancing cooperation. As the central venue for this historic event, the Grand Hotel Djibloho consolidated its reputation as a prestigious venue for high-level international meetings, marking an important milestone in relations between Equatorial Guinea and UNESCO.
