Tanzania Opens New Tourist Gate at Mkomazi National Park

Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has inaugurated the Ndea entry and exit gate at Mkomazi National Park in Mwanga District, Kilimanjaro Region. The new infrastructure, built at a cost of TZS 350 million, is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance tourism accessibility and attract more visitors, both domestic and international.
Mkomazi National Park’s Chief Conservator, Emmanuel Mwailama, highlighted the gate’s potential to increase tourist numbers, particularly those drawn to the park’s diverse wildlife, including black rhinos and elephants, as well as the scenic Lake Jipe. The investment aligns with Tanzania’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its tourism sector as a key contributor to economic growth.
