Tanzania offers increased employment opportunities in the tourism sector

Tanzania will recruit a further 700 officers for conservation institutions, following the graduation of 256 Tanzania Wildlife Authority rangers in Mwanza on 2 February 2026. Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and Tourism Dr Hassan Abbasi said the move forms part of the Sixth Phase Government’s push under President Samia Suluhu Hassan to strengthen the country’s Conservation Force and enhance protection of natural resources and wildlife.

Over the past year, the government employed 992 officers across conservation agencies, with the new graduates set to begin duty immediately. Officials say the expanded workforce is intended to improve operational efficiency and safeguard key wildlife assets – a cornerstone of Tanzania’s tourism economy.
