TAAG Angola Airlines will fully transition its operations to the new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NBJ) in Luanda on 15 September 2025, marking a significant step forward for Angola’s aviation sector. Replacing the older Quatro de Fevereiro Airport (LAD), the new hub offers capacity for up to 15 million passengers annually, with modern infrastructure designed to handle wide-body aircraft and expand regional connectivity.

The shift supports TAAG’s ongoing fleet modernisation—featuring aircraft such as the Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A220-300—and is expected to enable broader route development across Africa and beyond. With 30 boarding gates, dedicated cargo capabilities, and enhanced passenger facilities, NBJ is set to improve travel efficiency and stimulate tourism, trade, and wider economic growth in Angola. The development adds momentum to Africa’s airport infrastructure upgrades amid rising travel demand across the continent.
