TAAG Adds Third Airbus A220-300 to Boost Regional Connectivity

TAAG Angola Airlines has taken delivery of its third Airbus A220-300 aircraft, further advancing its fleet modernisation and regional expansion plans. The new aircraft, named D2-TAI, arrived in Luanda from Montreal with a technical stop in Faro, and forms a central part of TAAG’s 2024–2029 Strategic Plan aimed at enhancing connectivity across Africa and boosting operational efficiency.
The A220-300, known for its fuel efficiency and suitability for shorter runways, is expected to increase TAAG’s capacity by 14.2% compared to the Boeing 737-700. With plans to grow its A220 fleet to 15 aircraft, TAAG is positioning itself to serve a wider network of African destinations. The airline’s modernisation efforts also include the addition of Boeing 787 Dreamliners for long-haul operations, reinforcing its commitment to improved passenger experience and sustainable growth throughout the region.
