Sunbird opens Livingstonia International Conference Centre in Salima
Sunbird Hotels and Resorts has opened the Livingstonia International Conference Centre at Sunbird Beach Resort in Salima following a K11 billion investment. The facility strengthens Malawi’s MICE capacity and supports the group’s strategic repositioning of its lakeside portfolio.
The centre includes a 1,000-seat main arena with advanced audiovisual technology, six breakaway rooms accommodating 20–150 participants, and dedicated dining facilities for 300 guests, giving a total conference capacity of 1,500. The launch follows upgrades at Sunbird Waterfront and Sunbird Livingstonia and is expected to attract regional and international events, supporting tourism and wider economic activity on Lake Malawi.
