Sponsors commit K3.5m to 2026 Kenneth Kaunda Marathon
Zambia’s Ministry of Tourism has confirmed K3.5 million in sponsor support for the 2026 Kenneth Kaunda Marathon, with Stanbic Bank Zambia and Professional Insurance Corporation Zambia backing the event. Announced at the kit launch on 4 March 2026, the marathon – set for 28 April 2026 – forms part of the “Zambia Moves” brand and aligns with government plans to grow sports tourism and promote public health.
Organised with the National Museums Board of Zambia and the Kaunda family, the event is expected to draw participants from across the SADC region and beyond. Authorities have pledged a supportive policy framework and safe hosting environment, while partners including the Lusaka Fitness Squad will drive national participation and help broaden the marathon’s reach.
