South African Tourism has announced the appointments of Sithembile Ndaba as Chief Marketing Officer and Ismail Dockrat as Chief Operating Officer, effective 1 April and 1 May 2026 respectively. The appointments complete the organisation's full executive leadership team, following the earlier appointments of a Chief Financial Officer, Chief Audit Executive, and Chief Convention Bureau Officer between December 2025 and January 2026. Ndaba brings more than 25 years of experience in brand strategy, integrated marketing, and reputation management, joining from Brand South Africa where she served as General Manager: Marketing and held acting executive roles. Dockrat, an engineer with an MBA from the University of Cape Town, brings over 25 years of leadership across aviation, logistics, trade, and tourism promotion, with a track record in organisational turnarounds and digital transformation.

Acting CEO Dr Shamilla Chettiar welcomed the appointments, noting that the completed leadership team is well-positioned to drive organisational excellence and elevate South Africa's tourism brand globally. Ndaba has held advisory roles with the CMO Council Sub-Saharan Africa chapter and City Nation Place in the UK, while Dockrat's career spans senior positions at institutions including WESGRO, Trade and Investment South Africa, and DENEL. Both appointees bring significant public and private sector experience at a pivotal time for South African Tourism as it works to strengthen its competitive positioning in global markets.
